Abstract
This is a review of the installment art piece “Enlightenment: an Oak Tree (koan)” by Elijah Arenas. The piece seeks to demonstrate to viewers that enlightenment consists in a change in perspective, not knowledge. The piece effects this through a unique space which viewers can fill with their own subjective world.
